Slash: L.A.'s Maverick Label Meets the Majors
Mark Leviton, BAM, 10 February 1984
LOS ANGELES —"Music is a vehicle for ideas, and if the ideas suck and the music's good, it's still pretty bad music." The man at the other end of that statement is Bob Biggs, president of Slash Records, a label formed out of the punkzine Slash in order to issue a Germs album in 1979 and which, by 1984, has racked up an impressive list of discoveries and releases, including The Blasters, X, Flesheaters, Rank and File, Dream Syndicate, Green on Red and Fear.
