The Cookie Crew: Boardwalk, Manchester

Paul Lester, Melody Maker, 27 May 1989

WITH TITLES like 'Black Is The Way', The Cookie Crew envince a compelling need to have their say, to disseminate informative missives on a whole variety of issues. But if The Cookie Crew are to effectively spread their word, they will have to distribute lyric sheets at the front door of their next gig. Simply, the Sherman tank shudder of The Cookie Crew beat defaces Suzee and Debbie's graffiti diss-courses to the point where they become unintelligible gobbledegook, meaningless mantras: the rap cul-de-sac.
