Sidney Simien spent part of 1984 recording new songs at his home studio in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Unremarkable as this information may seem, it was in fact the start of a chain of events which would lead to one of the surprise R&B hits of the following summer in the USA and would catapult soul stalwart Denise LaSalle into the British top 20.
