FIRST TACTICAL error: having arranged earlier in the day to meet with a long admired reggae legend at a given place and hour, I trust to the efficacy of suburban Metro to deliver me hence. I turn up about 45 minutes late (three quarters of an hour when you're worried about the impression you'll make). As a result, my contact is long gone and I wind up roaming smoke-obscured halls attempting to penetrate the impenetrable patois of assorted Jah Jah people whom I foolishly assume are associated with the aforementioned luminary (well, they were but — hell, I'm glad he wasn't staying in Silver Spring).
