FOR THE past few weeks, Donovan has had his own little corner of Ready, Steady, Go! each Friday. He is to be seen with chin raised, eyes closed, and singing in a young, slightly tinny voice about how they laid the deputy down. "Oh Low-dee, Low-dee," he sings passionately in the way American folk singers address their Maker.
