GROWING UP IN PUBLIC was the title of a Lou Reed album a few years back, and although this is a dictum that can be applied to many artists worth their salt, it is particularly relevant in the case of the Triffids. The Triffids may be young people, but as a group they have been together a good six or seven years and in that time have traversed a lot of ground, both mentally and physically, to become one of the hottest prospects within and without Australia.
