Throwing Muses: Red Heaven

David Cavanagh, Select, September 1992

AFTER LAST YEAR'S The Real Ramona, which seemed to please everybody at least some of the time, the Muses split in half.

Tanya Donelly and bassist Fred Abong went off to form Belly, leaving Kristin Hersh and drummer David Narcizo to split, get back together again, experiment with a strange name (Khulli Loach), change their minds, and get on with making the fifth Muses LP. Former bassist Leslie Langston returns temporarily to help out.
