The Stylistics, Jimmy James & the Vagabonds: Hammersmith Odeon, London

David Nathan, Blues & Soul, 21 May 1974

AS PART of their first major tour of the UK. Avco's Stylistics performed at the Odeon, Hammersmith on Saturday May 4th to a pretty full house and although they were undoubtedly good, they didn't create the reaction you might have expected. Much of the group's consistent attraction has been based on the gentle, sweet, soft "Philly sound" which has catapulted the group into the ranks of the best sellers time after time.
