Smashing Pumpkins: Underworld, London

Ngaire Ruth, Melody Maker, 21 September 1991

Smashing Pumpkins are from Chicago and they prove more than our expectations (a combination of Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Levitation and that Sub-poppy thang). Imagine Soundgarden fronted by a Morrison/Bolan, if it's not too much for your senses.
