Larry Raspberry Meets the Gentrys… Again

2024 NOTE: A story I freelanced for the Gainesville Sun after dropping out of the U of F, working nights as a production artist for The Independent Florida Alligator, the school's off-campus newspaper. At the time Larry Raspberry (and his band, the Highsteppers) were actually getting some FM airplay from their LP, most notably a great little tune called 'Jive Ass', highlighted by some excellent raw guitar. Hanging out with the guy, watching the band before him play on the outdoor quad at the University of Florida, I remember leaning over to tell him I liked this group's harp player. He just laughed, told me: "Wait ‘til you see mine."
