Emerson, Lake & Palmer: Town Hall, Birmingham

Tony Stewart, Sounds, 31 October 1970

AFTER TWO hours of solid music, the 2,000 strong audience, at Birmingham Town Hall were dancing in the aisles, clapping and stamping and try as they might, Emerson, Lake and Palmer were unable to leave the stage before they had completed two encores to standing ovations. Believe it or not, it was half an hour before the enraptured fans realised they were not going to reappear a third time.
