Dionne Warwicke: I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself...

Tony Cummings, Black Music, March 1975

Dionne Warwicke is one of the great voices of black music. Back in the 60s she and maestro Burt Bacharach pioneered the sophisticated soul sounds which are now so much a part of today's scene. But then Dionne lost her way, and it took a record with the Spinners to rescue her from a long period of chart failure. TONY CUMMINGS looks back at her career and asks: where does she go from here?
