I HAVE IT from the horse's mouth this week — the best way to get a rock and roll band is through the road managers. They're the ones who are still on stage clearing up the equipment long after the house lights have gone up and the stars have left for their hotel. It is a rather anti-climatic time, as you might imagine, and you can safely assume they are, well, kind of open to friendly overtures.
