Weather Report: New Victoria, London

Philip Norman, The Times, 28 November 1975

MENTION "JAZZ rock" to me in the normal way, and I yawn. The two elements, apparently so close, seem mutually inimical: the fire tends to depart from each, leaving only earnestness behind. I am glad Blood Sweat and Tears have declined. I cringe at Quincey Jones. I would travel many miles to avoid seeing Chicago. I travelled one mile to Victoria last night to discover if Weather Report are as good as the rumours say. After Bruce Springsteen, I am inclined to look on the bright side.
