We Need a Frank Zappa for the 21st Century

A TRIBUTE TO Frank Zappa was one of the highlights of Surround 2003 at the conference's awards show Dec. 11 at the Beverly Hills Hilton, saluting the late musician as a pioneer of surround music. His wife Gail, son Dweezil (who performed with his band) and daughter Diva were on hand to accept the award on his behalf. He also received tributes from actor Billy Bob Thornton and adult publisher Larry Flynt, both friends of the family, and guitarist Steve Vai, who played on three tours as a membber of Zappa's band.
