Wailers' Simple Message

Martin Hayman, Sounds, 9 June 1973

BOB MARLEY looks as though he could be a heavy. Though he's of average height and spare build, he has the gleaming eye of a potential fanatic and the aquiline profile and two short furrows beneath his left cheekbone (which look suspiciously like scars) increase the piratical air he has. His head is crowned with the thick ropes of hair affected by the Rastafarians and it is when you tackle him on this subject that the Jamaican rhetoric starts to talk.
