BEING A seasoned warrior in the rock 'n roll trenches, I knew how to handle such calls. I allowed the endless blather to continue while I simply nodded. Eventually the spiel winds down and it is possible to continue one's interrupted activities, but out of the morass I had gleaned one piece of pertinent info. ZZ Top, a boogie band from Texas, was headlining over such notables as War, Johnny Winter, Kiss, the Marshall Tucker Band, the Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Pure Prairie League, the Atlanta Rhythm Section and whosoever else showed up!
