WITH MUCH TALK about the late-1980s being the day of the post-feminist woman, it is natural to ask: if feminist battles are won, why are there still more women vocalists than women musicians? The female vocalist has always been a feature of the music industry, but the question of what a music made predominantly by women might sound like remains largely unanswered.
