Vice Squad: Stand Strong, Stand Proud (EMI/Riot City ZEM 104)****

Garry Bushell, Sounds, 8 May 1982

THIS ISN'T a great album but it is a very good one. For Vice Squad it's a crucial show of strength because their first album was such a let-down. Like the equally dodgy debuts from Chron-Gen and the 4-Skins, the Squad's No Cause For Concern was fatally nobbled by lack of care and know-how. To be blunt, it was a production disaster on par with a Harry Pop Big Screen version of The Life And Loves Of Johnny Waller.
