Turntable Legends Part 2: Tony Humphries

Frank Broughton, Mixmag, April 1992

THE BIG man has cricked his back. He's drugged out on 'Bufferin', 'Excedrin', 'Anacin', and major doses of 'Extra Strength Tylenol' after waking up in Canada with a pain the size of a train. But there's work to be done and Tony Humphries is going to get on with it regardless. He has to finish remixing an Alison Limerick track and bust out the new Soul II Soul single before Wednesday. Besides that there's his Kiss FM (New York) programmes to sort out and a hundred or so new records that need to be transformed into a happening Friday night show at New Jersey's famous Zanzibar club.
