AS FIRST gigs go, it was an almost surreal baptism. Happily for them, the Queen was impressed. "She came over and said hello. I just remember she was really tiny and had this massive hat on", recalls Ollie Knights, one half of Turin Brakes, whose delicious The Optimist LP already looks set to be one of the highlights of 2001.
