Total: Kima, Keisha & Pam (Bad Boy/Arista)

Miles Marshall Lewis, L.A. Weekly, 17 December 1998

TOTAL, THE Bad Boy Entertainment girl group promoted as "Puffy's angels," never quite reached gold status with their eponymous 1996 debut. The backlash against Bad Boy hit Total's Kima. Keisha and Pam in a variety of barbs from hip-hop culture tastemakers: "Total can't sing"; "Total are broke, repaying their Arista advance"; "Pam is swinging both ways, rolling with Da Brat." Total's rejoinder to the naysaying came in the form of two hit singles: 'Can't You See', powered mainly by the late Notorious B.I.G., and a remix of 'What About Us', flipped by Missy Elliott.
