Thorogood's Blues-Rock Has Made Big Leagues
Geoffrey Himes, Baltimore Sun, 17 December 1982
IN 1980, GEORGE Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers, were really gathering momentum with their traditional brand of blues-based rock. Their second album, Move It On Over, had just won an unexpected, unprecedented gold record for their tiny Boston folk label, Rounder Records. The third album was on the way. The Rounder folks were getting lots of requests to book the band for summer shows. No way, said Mr. Thorogood. Summer is for baseball. Music can wait for the off-season.
