The Weird World Of David Lindley
Michael Azerrad, Rolling Stone, 6 October 1988
DAVID LINDLEY has found the oud of his dreams in a guitar store on Manhattan's Forty-eighth Street. "This is a beauty," he says, admiring the ornate pear-shaped Middle Eastern instrument. Cradling the oud, Lindley begins discussing another obscure Oriental instrument, the jumbush, with the Armenian store owner. "You play jumbush?" the man asks incredulously.
