THE TITLE of the Triffids' debut album, Treeless Plain, refers, of course, to the Nullarbor. That it also suggests the mood of the album itself, bleak yet still bright, is no mere coincidence. the Triffids, a young, new group originally from Perth, have an innate sense of the here and now.
