The Shamen: Brixton Academy, London

Stephen Dalton, New Musical Express, 2 November 1991

SYNERGY IS dead, long live Progeny. Kicked into a different dimension by the untimely demise of bassist Will Sinnott, The Shamen's travelling rave-show finds itself thickening around the waist and carrying weightier responsibilities across its shoulders. Not that this event feels like a wake — even if core member Colin Angus does dedicate the odd tune to "absent friends" — it's more like a serious celebration.
