The Replacements: All Shook Down (Sire)

Max Bell, Vox, November 1990

THE REPLACEMENTS were always Paul Westerberg's outfit and on All Shook Down one can't help but deduce that this is a solo album with the rest of the band relegated to the small print cast list. Not that it matters since a rose by any other name... All Shook Down is in any case a marked improvement on Don't Tell A Soul or Please To Meet Me, both of which sold well on the college circuit in America.
