The Ramones: The Group That Sowed the Seeds of Punk

BEFORE THE Sex Pistols, there was the Ramones. With its supercharged rock sound, comically demented lyrics and stylized, street-tough image, the foursome emerged from Forest Hills in 1974 to become a sensation on the then-developing New York City punk circuit. Along with Blondie, Television and Patti Smith, the group virtually defined what was to become the new wave.
