The Proclaimers Favourite Records

Andy Gill, Q, February 1991

CRAIG REID holds up a copy of Prince's Parade, his favourite album by the tiny genius, and lavishes approbation upon the sublime 'Kiss' – "just a straight 12-bar blues, really, but brilliant" – whilst voicing reservations about his workaholism. "He overstretches himself, makes too many records for his own good. Whereas Madonna..." – pulling a copy of Like A Prayer from the pile of about a hundred albums he and brother Charlie have chosen as their favourites – "...releases just the right amount of stuff."
