The Olivia Tremor Control: Black Foliage: Animation Music by the Olivia Tremor Control (Flydaddy)

Marc Weingarten, Spin, April 1999

IF APPLES in Stereo are the Elephant 6 movement's white-gloved archivists, and Neutral Milk Hotel are the resident primitive surrealists, then the Olivia Tremor Control are clinical schizophonics torn between their twin loves — foppish '60s pop and Dada cut-up constructs. There are any number of bands that can conjure pastel guitar textures and stack candycane harmonies as adroitly as the Olivia Tremor Control, but few are so willing to hock loogies into their theremin.
