The Master: Reggie Young

Barney Hoskyns, Uncut Legends, December 2008

REGGIE YOUNG is a southern institution: the session guitarist's session guitarist. His inimitable licks and fills, at once clipped and fluid, have graced a zillion hits by artists big and small, black and white, soulful and countrified. From Elvis and Dusty in Memphis to George Strait and Travis Tritt in Nashville, artists of all stripes and hues have called on this unassuming six-string master to insert himself into the often-brief spaces between their vocal lines.
