The Little Feat Saga

Bud Scoppa, Rhino Records, February 2000

This is the story of a great American band, a band as quintessentially SoCal as the Beach Boys, as rootsy as the Band, as funky as the Meters, as cerebral as Steely Dan. It’s also the story of a guy who breathed life into that band, but whose own life was extinguished way too early. Oops – there must be some cosmic mistake. This wasn’t the way the story line was supposed to turn out. Like Warren Beatty’s careless quarterback in Heaven Can Wait, he really didn’t mean to do it. Can we try that one more time, please, Mr. Jordan?
