NEW ORLEANS — This city is a hotbed of jazz tradition, but the Dirty Dozen Brass Band has come up with a new twist on a rich musical heritage. The eight-piece outfit, which appears at Consolidated Plaza (3725 San Felipe Drive) Sept. 14 and the Lingerie on Sept. 15, offers an energetic updating of the brass-band sound long heard at New Orleans funeral parades and social functions.
