The dBs

Jon Young, Trouser Press, May 1982

"A dB IS A proportion, a logarithmic measurement of energy," Chris Stamey, 27, explains. "It doesn't mean there's necessarily a lot of it; it relates to scope or range. If you have a ratio of 100 dBs, there's a wild extreme in there. You don't always sit on one point. It means you can do all different kinds of stuff."
