AFTER CALLING Jeff Beck on stage to climax last week s final night of his British tour, David Bowie reappeared alone before the curtain to tell his distraught Hammersmith Odeon audience that this was Goodbye for keeps. It was a touching moment which grabbedthe headlines (almost) everywhere, but one which was open to a variety of interpretations.
