PROBABLY THE only unanswered question by now for most of their followers on this side of The Big Moist, is how they look when they do it. The visual aspects of the Art Ensemble Of Chicago — the theatrical trappings, the masks and war-paint, the element of dance — that have sometimes reared up and erased one's consecutive reading of their music on record, pulling the rug out from under an already senior jigsaw explain rather than mystify when seen on stage.
