"Thank you, ignite!": Radiohead at Meltdown

Jim Irvin, MOJO, July 2000

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This was a piece for the news section of MOJO in July 2000 previewing songs from the forthcoming Radiohead album that were unveiled in concert during the Meltdown festival on the South Bank, curated that year by Scott Walker. An album containing this music was expected by October. The song titles were supplied by their press office, so any discrepancies, i.e. 'Egyptian Song', were semi-official at the time. In the end, the songs unveiled here were spread across two records, Kid A issued in October and Amnesiac issued the following June. Which begs the question, what if these songs had all appeared on one record?
