THE STATISTICS — a number two album, world tours, etc — make it seem as though 1990 and 'The Sweet Keeper' were further TT triumphs on the scale of 'Ancient Heart'. But a string of stiff singles and a still cringeworthy Brits show in 1989 showed her limitations, and it was a case of "where next?".
