TALKING HEADS' first studio album since 1980's Remain in Light is quietly brilliant, reclaiming the more skeletal character of their earlier work without suggesting a regression. While the new songs hew more closely to the original quartet's style as apotheosized on 1979's Fear of Music, they also build on the collaborative thrust of Light, with many of the outside players on that album showing up here an well.
