Status Quo: The Empire, Edinburgh
Ed Jones, Cracker, October 1973
FOR A KICKOFF, let's get one thing straight: Status Quo's popularity depends not at all on critical approval or otherwise. Their audience at The Empire last Thursday threw up the most gigantic roar (though one guy near me just threw up) as soon as the band hit the stage, and howled, shouted, clapped and stomped good humouredly throughout the almost two-hour set.
