Stan Ridgway: Drawing Mosquitos With An Eye For Detail

Dave Zimmer, BAM, 20 October 1989

STAN RIDGWAY is a great painter of life. Rather than oil or water colors, however, his medium has always been the English language. He creates vivid word pictures – filled with fascinating characters and bits of philosophy – that are strewn across sometimes haunting, sometimes whimsical instrumental landscapes.
