Sheila E.: Romance 1600 (I.R.S.)

J.D. Considine, Musician, November 1985

The Glamorous Life, her solo debut, was produced by Prince but sounded utterly unlike him. Its grab-bag take on jazz, salsa and funk moved to an entirely different drummer, and that helped make Sheila stand out against the rest of the Minneapolis Mafia.
