CHRIS WILSON, lead singer of the Flamin' Groovies, was once described as "looking a bit of a prick in orange satin", but he got off lightly compared with his predecessor. Roy A.Loney, we were informed in the course of a Groovies interview conducted some time after his departure, was fired because he wanted the group to perform songs "so lame even James Taylor wouldn't do them".
