THE WITTY, sham-fundamentalist introductions of trumpeter John Mosley were not the only examples of crowd manipulation at Roy Ayers' packed Hammersmith appearance. Despite no sets and little showmanship, Ayers managed to move his thousands of uncritical, disco-trained London admirers through shrewd pacing and a brilliant rendition.
