Ride: Town Hall, Oxford

John Harris, Sounds, 26 May 1990

THE TOWN Hall, a venue that usually forms the setting for nothing more exciting than tea dances and antique fairs, hasn't played host to amplified music for 16 years. It's beautifully appropriate then, that the band who first break its old 90 decibel sound limit should be Ride — local boys made good, to whom sheer volume is everything.
