"Recording Sessions I Have Known" by Charlie McCoy

Jim Delehant, Hit Parader, May 1966

When you hear a harmonica wailing in the background on currently popular blues, country, folk or pop recordings, it's probably being played by an ultra-talented guy named Charlie McCoy, one of Nashville's most in-demand session men. You name a singer and Charlie has been on his records, playing any one of ten instruments.

Here, Charlie reminisces about sessions with Elvis, Flatt & Scruggs, Bob Dylan and other bags — like blues, country, rock folk and the British thing. Take it away Charlie.
