ALTHOUGH PUNK ROCK is still reeling from the death of Clash icon Joe Strummer, the movement is probably in its healthiest commercial state for 25 years. Berkeley quartet Rancid have been around for a long time, but unlike the slightly cartoonish Offspring and Green Day, they are a proper punk band with a proper punk audience, and their tour this month has largely sold out.
