Prince Buster: The Forum, London
Lloyd Bradley, MOJO, December 2000
WHERE DO skinhead women go during the week? You see the blokes: driving white vans, doing unmentionable things to your u-bend or even practicing as accountants. After all, for a chap to shave his head these days is to suggest no agenda other than anesthetics. But 30-year-old women with that bizarre "girl's crop" hairdo – dyed blonde and another colour, very short on top and at the back, inch-long fringe and those strange six-inch wisps in front of each ear – can't just blend into everyday life. It takes an event like Prince Buster Live On Tour to bring them out in their unreconstructed mid-'60s mohair finery.
