Peter Frampton — Up From Rock's Infantry
Richard Cromelin, Los Angeles Times, 23 May 1976
SUPPOSE, FOR illustration's sake, that your family is a rock 'n' roll band — not a great one, but solid and promising. The amateur dates and club gigs are behind you, and you don't have a hit record wedging you into the public consciousness. In addition, your record company isn't shelling out big bucks for a massive hype (which, you're sure, is just what you need, realizing that if there's substance in the music it won't hurt you in the long run — witness Bowie and Elton).
