Opry

Gene Guerrero, The Great Speckled Bird, 1 November 1971

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE — It was a combination pop festival and Lion's Club Convention — the 46th Anniversary Celebration of the Grand Ole Opry held October 13-16. Days of continuous music, free beer and drinks, and all night carousing in hotels. A gathering of "the industry," a celebration of country music's success over the past 46 years since Judge George D. Hay launched the Opry.
